November 21, 2023, Mumbai: Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited (BSV) a leading biopharmaceutical company in India, along with Bureau Veritas (India) Pvt. Ltd. (BVIL), a world leader in Audit and Certification Services, has put together a first-of-its kind BSV ART Act Readiness Program. Through this Program, BVIL will assess IVF centres/clinics and help them implement the requirements of the Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulations, 2021 (the ART Act). Through an intensive survey, BVIL has assessed and certified Umadevi Sitaram Bairagi Hospital Fertility & Research Centre with a Gold Rating.

Speaking at the Accreditation function, Alok Khettry, COO- India Business , BSV said, “ Keeping the patient at the core of all that we do, the BSV ART Act Readiness Assessment Program endeavors to support IVF centers/ clinics to improve safety and provide ethical practices related to Assisted Reproductive Technology services. We are delighted that Uma Fertility has been awarded a Gold Rating by ‘Bureau Veritas’ which is testimony to their robust processes and standards. The Centre has been assessed on six critical parameters: infrastructure; people and competency management; communication; patient and process selection; data records and compliance monitoring. We are confident that this Assessment will ready Uma Fertility to transform into a model-centre as described in the Act .”

The BSV ART Act Readiness Program is an industry initiative that aims to assess 50+ IVF centres/clinics (in the first six months) and support the clinics in their readiness of the Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulations, 2021 (the ART Act), and support them in their journey of excellence in customer service.
