The sacred city of Ayodhya is all set to witness a unique blend of faith and fitness as Kreeda Bharti, the sports wing of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, announces the third edition of its flagship event, “Run for Ram,” scheduled for 13th April 2025. This much-awaited half-marathon, titled “Sankalpka Marathon,” is not merely a race but a profound expression of devotion and community spirit, inspired by the life and values of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram.
Building on the overwhelming success of the 2023 and 2024 editions, Kreeda Bharti Uttar Pradesh, under the visionary leadership of State President Shri Awanish Kumar Singh, is preparing to welcome more than 40,000 participants from across the country. Rooted in the divine inspiration of Ram Janmabhoomi, this marathon is designed to echo the significance of the 14-Koshi Parikrama, symbolizing physical endurance, spiritual commitment, and collective harmony.
The 2025 edition will feature three categories, including a 21-kilometer half-marathon, a 10-kilometer run, and a 3-kilometer family and fun run, each tracing the spiritually significant Ram Path and Bhakti Path in Ayodhya. The event aims to include people from all walks of life, welcoming men, women, children, and senior citizens to take part in this journey of health and devotion. It offers an opportunity for participants not only to test their physical stamina but also to strengthen their connection to faith and tradition.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Awanish Kumar Singh, State President of Kreeda Bharti Uttar Pradesh, said, “Run for Ram has grown into a movement that brings together individuals from all corners of the country in the spirit of devotion and fitness. This is not just a run; it is a collective resolve (sankalp) to embrace a disciplined, healthy, and spiritually enriched life, guided by the ideals of Shri Ram. Ayodhya, the land of Ram Lalla, continues to inspire us all.”
Over the past two years, Run for Ram has witnessed enthusiastic participation from thousands of devotees and fitness enthusiasts, both in India and abroad. With the upcoming edition, Kreeda Bharti seeks to further its mission of encouraging health, discipline, and spiritual awareness among all age groups.
A press conference for the upcoming marathon in Ayodhya and other locations will be organized on 5th April. The organizers are confident that Run for Ram 2025 will once again reaffirm Ayodhya’s position as a spiritual and cultural hub, while promoting the values of unity and well-being.
