In 2018, two IIT Kanpur graduates, Dilsher Singh Malhi and Siddhant Saurabh, embarked on an audacious journey to make their mark in the online gaming industry. What began as a vision rooted in cultural nostalgia and cognitive engagement has now evolved into Zupee, India’s largest skill-based Ludo gaming platform, with over 100 million registered users.
The Genesis: Vitamins for the Soul
For Dilsher, life boiled down to two essentials: painkillers and vitamins. While painkillers solve immediate problems; vitamins enrich, sustain, and uplift life. “Entertainment is like vitamins for the soul,” Dilsher reflects. “It’s not just about killing time—it’s about adding joy, connection, and meaning to our lives.”
With this philosophy as their guiding star, Dilsher and Siddhant set out to create something that wasn’t just another online game, but a multivitamin for the modern world.
Their answer lay in a surprising place: nostalgia. They turned to India’s cherished childhood games, like Ludo and Snakes & Ladders, and imagined them anew—not as simple pastimes, but as platforms for strategy, skill, and joy.
Building the Impossible
When they started the RMG industry was dominated by flashy fantasy sports and high-stakes card games. Yet Dilsher and Siddhant saw an opportunity where no one else did—a vivid interest amongst people across generations for culturally rooted, Indic games.
Both founders took to the drawing board. Starting from scratch, they built a platform that combined cutting-edge technology with seamless gameplay. Every element, from game mechanics to payment security, was designed to make players feel both nostalgic and empowered.
“When we started, people didn’t always believe in our idea,” Dilsher recalls. “But we believed in the power of tradition—and in creating something that spoke to the Indian heart.”
A Game-Changer in Every Sense
Zupee didn’t just reintroduce Ludo; it reinvented it. By integrating skill-based elements, real-money rewards, and gameplay that lasted just 10 minutes, they transformed a beloved board game into a thrilling digital experience. Both founders in the process created a whole new category in the RMG segment. Players could now relive childhood memories while sharpening their strategic thinking—and even earning money in the process.
“Our games are designed for everyone,” Dilsher explains. “Whether you want to play for free versus when you wager ₹1, you get the same sense of excitement and achievement.”
Zupee also stayed true to its mission of responsible entertainment. With features like RNG certification, bot-free play, and robust payment protections, the platform ensured that players could game in a secure, fair, and enjoyable environment.
A Legacy of Innovation
In just a few years, Zupee has grown into a tech powerhouse with over 100 million registered users and a team of more than 300 employees. Its flagship game, Ludo Supreme, is now synonymous with skill-based casual gaming in India.
But for Dilsher and Siddhant, success isn’t just about numbers. It’s about the joy they’ve brought back into people’s lives. “When someone tells us they’re bonding with their family over Ludo again, or that they feel a sense of purpose while playing, that’s our real victory,” says Dilsher.
Looking Ahead: More Than a Game
Zupee’s journey is far from over. The platform is expanding its portfolio, exploring new ways to blend tradition with technology, and continuing to redefine what it means to game responsibly.
“Just like vitamins are essential for life, so is entertainment for the soul,” Dilsher concludes. “With Zupee, we’re not just building games—we’re building moments of joy, connection, and growth.”
As Zupee continues to innovate and inspire, Dilsher and Siddhant are not just building a gaming platform, but are attempting to rewrite the rules of the game—and win big in the process.
