Indore’s Medicaps University and Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology Successfully Host the 33rd National Laser Symposium

17th March 2025: Medicaps University Indore, recently concluded the prestigious 33rd National Laser Symposium in collaboration with the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), and Indian Laser Association (ILA). This distinguished event, organized by the Department of Atomic Energy and BRNS, is the second-largest conference of its kind in India, attracting around 400 participants, including renowned scientists, researchers, industry experts, and academicians to explore advancements in laser science, technology, and applications.

The symposium was inaugurated by Prof. Indranil Manna, Vice-Chancellor, BIT Mesra, Ranchi, who emphasized the importance of institutional collaborations to establish India as a global leader in laser technology. He highlighted the pioneering contributions of DAE institutions, particularly the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore, in advancing scientific research and innovation.

The symposium featured 22 expert talks and 226 research paper presentations, fostering discussions on laser applications in medicine, advanced manufacturing, and defense. An exclusive industrial exhibition showcased cutting-edge laser technology by leading manufacturers and suppliers, providing participants with insights into the latest industry trends. Renowned experts, including Dr. S.V. Nakhe (Ex-Director, RRCAT), discussed how laser technology is revolutionizing industries, while Dr. C.P. Paul, General Secretary, ILA, inspired attendees to push the boundaries of scientific research. A captivating session by Prof. Jaipal Mittal from BARC, Mumbai, titled Breaking Bonds on Order – A Dream Still Alive, engaged the audience with thought-provoking insights. Recognizing academic excellence, the Indian Laser Association honored outstanding contributions with awards for 17 posters, 5 consolation prizes, and three thesis presentations.
