Yashwant Singh is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Lok Sabha constituency of Nagina in the state of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Yashwant Singh defeated his nearest rival Yashvir Singh of Samajwadi Party (SP) by a margin of more than ninety thousand votes. Throughout his political career, Yashwant Singh has focused on resolving the problems of the common man. He has also been assocaited with various programs that aim to provide better health and education to people belonging to the Dalit community. He has also involvedhimself in a wide variety of social and cultural programs such as ‘kavi sammelans’(conference of poets).
Early Life and Education
Yashwant Singh was born on March 1, 1962 to Shri Ramchandra and Smt. Keshon Devi. He was born in a village named Churiyala, which is located near to the city of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. Singh is a doctor by profession and he completed his M.B.B.S., M.D. from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He married Raj Kumari on October 9, 1991.

Personal Pursuits
Yashwant Singh has had a keen interest in sports since his school days. He had participated in various sporting events during his school and college days. In his spare time, he likes to play chess and watch television.
