Manav Rachna makes its debut in QS World University Rankings 2026

  • Ranks 7th in India for Faculty–Student Ratio
  • One of only eight Indian universities to join the global list this year

Faridabad, June 19, 2025: Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) has made its first appearance in the QS World University Rankings 2026, becoming one of only eight Indian institutions to debut in the rankings this year. The QS World University Rankings, compiled by global higher education analysts Quacquarelli Symonds, evaluate institutions worldwide on indicators such as academic reputation, employability, research strength, global engagement, and sustainability.

Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, said, “This is more than a ranking, it is a representation of India’s academic shift and Manav Rachna’s role within it. Our debut in the QS World University Rankings 2026 signals a larger story of growth, relevance, and global presence. Our presence among the world’s top universities is both humbling and encouraging.”

Only 1,501 universities were selected from 8,467 evaluated worldwide. MRIIRS is one of just eight new Indian entrants, making India the most represented country in the rankings this year with 54 institutions featured.

Dr. Amit Bhalla, Vice President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, shared, “To be recognised in our very first appearance is significant. We have always believed that world-class education is measured not only by outcomes, but by diversity, access, and academic depth. These rankings show that our efforts are being recognised internationally, and we are proud to carry India’s flag on this platform.”

Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS, added, “Each data point in the rankings speaks to the work being done across departments. This recognition is built on years of steady work, strengthening faculty-student engagement, promoting research, and welcoming international talent. This achievement motivates us to go further in creating a diverse academic setting.”

India’s overall performance in the 2026 QS World University Rankings shows encouraging trends. Five Indian institutions are now in the global top 100 for Employer Reputation. The country also outperformed the US, UK, and Germany in Citations per Faculty, with eight Indian institutions ranked in the global top 100 in that metric.
