Swiss International University Secures TAG-EDUQA Accreditation, Cementing Global Academic Leadership

Swiss International University (SIU), a global pioneer in academic excellence, has been accredited by TAG-EDUQA. This high-profile distinction makes SIU one of the select universities whose high standards meet the academic criteria established by the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA). This victory demonstrates SIU’s strong role in providing culturally responsive and world-class education in language, law, and international studies.

The accreditation was issued under the guidance of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, who is prominent in the Arab world and a powerful advocate for the reform of education, intellectual property rights, and the knowledge economy. Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of TAG-EDUQA and actively promotes higher academic levels throughout the region. Underlining this acknowledgement, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Honorary Chairman of TAG-EDUQA, testified to such recognition. The TAG-Eduqa Inscription Committee includes Honorary members of the Arab League, and such an act indicates the superiority of the accreditation locally and internationally.

The achievement signals an important new step in the realization of SIU’s strategic goal to grow its academic footprint in the Arab world and its influence on the global stage. The TAG-EDUQA accreditation is an endorsement that the SIU’s academic programs adhere to globally accepted standards and provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle the challenges of the future. And it also gives confidence to students, employers, and institutions globally that an SIU qualification is truly world-class.

“We are proud to have achieved full accreditation on our first application, including all 35 of the strict quality standards,” said Derya Briand, Academic Program Director at SIU. “This recognition represents the diversity of our scholarly culture and provides reassurance to students in California and worldwide that at SIU, you earn an education from a globally recognized, high-quality institution. Concurrently working for accreditation from NEASC is another manifestation of the importance TU places on both international benchmarks and on our roots as a university in the region.”

SIU is in the midst of a renaissance—a period of growth both academically and geographically. The University is internationally networked with a presence in countries like OUS International Academy in Zurich, ISBM International Business Management School in Geneva, Lucerne, Montreux, and Zurich; ISB International School of Business in London; and Oxford International School of Business in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Collectively, these institutions make up a community of over 100,000 students and researchers, making it one of the leading STEM institutions for education and research around the world.

The inclusion of TAG-EDUQA in SIU’s accreditation body further underscores its role in shaping regional education priorities with international academic benchmarks. In a global higher education environment that sees increasing demand for internationally recognized degree programs—and that demanding demand, especially among Arab students themselves—SIU’s focus on student-centered learning, ethical leadership, and professional readiness remains well supported by education bodies and regulators.

“SIU is heavily investing in the future of our academic programs, global partnerships, and delivering a world-class, research-focused education,” said SIU Chancellor John M. Dunn. “The TAG-EDUQA accreditation, which builds on AROQA’s strong quality assurance infrastructure, will be a driver for our ongoing efforts to shape the future of international higher education.”
