Canara Bank conducts PM JanSuraksha Saturation Campaign at Kodigehalli, Bengaluru Rural

Bangalore, August 18, 2025: Canara Bank organized a Financial Inclusion Saturation Camp at Kodigehalli Gram Panchayat, Doddaballapura Block, Bengaluru Rural District, Karnataka, as part of the ongoing PM JanSuraksha Saturation Campaign (July 1 – September 30, 2025). The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 700 customers, representing nine neighbouring villages.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri K. Satyanarayana Raju, MD & CEO of Canara Bank; Smt. Sonali Sen Gupta, Regional Director of RBI Bengaluru; Shri Arun Kumar, AGM of RBI; Smt. Syeeda Iisha, ADC of Bengaluru Rural District; Smt. Asha Rani, Panchayat President; Smt. Sowbhagya, Co-President of Kodigehalli; Shri Manjunath, President of Kesthur Panchayat; Shri Mahesh M. Pai, CGM of Canara Bank Bengaluru Circle; Shri Bhaskar Chakravarthy, GM of Lead Bank Vertical at Canara Bank; Shri Krishna Chaitanya Reddy, AGM of Canara Bank Devanahalli; along with Canara Bank branch staff, representatives from other Public Sector Banks, and Karnataka Gramin Bank.
Speaking at the event, Smt. Sonali Sen Gupta, Regional Director of RBI Bengaluru, in her keynote address, emphasized the importance of completing Re-KYC formalities and registering for government social security schemes. She urged all participants to be aware of cyber fraud and advised customers to update their KYC information and reactivate dormant accounts.
Delivering the keynote address, Shri K. Satyanarayana Raju, MD & CEO, Canara Bank, elaborated on flagship financial inclusion schemes such as PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, and APY, emphasizing the need for active public participation to achieve financial saturation targets. He also illustrated how citizens had benefited from these schemes during difficult times by paying a nominal premium of just ₹436 (PMJJBY) or ₹20 (PMSBY). He further sensitized customers about money mule accounts and requested all customers to be cautious about cyber fraud.
As part of the camp, dedicated enrolment counters were set up for PMSBY and PMJJBY, and live, on-the-spot Re-KYC facilities were also provided to customers. At the event, cheques were handed over to eight beneficiaries of PMSBY and PMJJBY from Avathi, Doddaballapura, and Kodigehalli branches of Canara Bank. Beneficiaries shared their personal experiences, narrating how these schemes had provided critical financial support during times of adversity.
