Flipkart and FDDI conduct orientation workshop to boost digital inclusion for budding entrepreneurs and small businesses in India

Organized in collaboration with the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), the program underscores Flipkart’s commitment to democratizing digital commerce and fostering self-reliance among local communities.

Hyderabad 16th September 2025: Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, in collaboration with the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), organized an orientation and training workshop at the FDDI Campus in Hyderabad to empower aspiring entrepreneurs, small businesses, and artisans with the tools to embrace e-commerce. The event was graced by Shri Tej Lohit Reddy, IAS, Executive Director, FDDI and Dr. Tafheem Siddiqui, Head of Public Policy, Flipkart Group.

The workshop focused on democratizing access to digital commerce and equipping participants with knowledge of Flipkart’s platform, product listing processes, and training modules that enable them to reach wider markets and build sustainable businesses. The program began with a lamp lighting ceremony, followed by insightful addresses from the dignitaries, who emphasized the importance of e-commerce in accelerating self-reliance, supporting micro-entrepreneurs, and strengthening India’s digital economy.

A Flipkart orientation session and training video provided participants with insights into marketplace operations, product showcasing, and customer engagement strategies. The training segment on product listing, orientation, and business training helped participants understand how to leverage Flipkart’s ecosystem for entrepreneurial growth.

Flipkart Samarth has played a pivotal role in promoting underserved communities across India. Launched in 2019, Flipkart Samarth is a nationwide initiative to open new growth opportunities for MSMEs, artisans, and underserved communities through e-commerce by providing an  inclusive, nationwide digital platform to help them develop the capabilities for earning a better living. The program has seen significant growth through strategic engagements and partnerships with State and Central Ministries, Government Departments, and other entities across India.
