The Kerala BJP Manifesto 2026, unveiled by Nitin Nabin, outlines a vision of “Vikasita Keralam” where every Malayalee lives with dignity, stability, and confidence. With the state heading to polls on April 9 and counting on May 4, the document emphasizes a universal welfare framework that ensures access to life’s essentials—food, healthcare, electricity, and water—without uncertainty. The core philosophy is simple: support must reach every household, leaving no family behind.

At the heart of this vision is direct empowerment at the household level. A key proposal, the Bhakshya Arogya Suraksha Card, offers ₹2,500 per month directly to women for food and medical needs, amounting to ₹30,000 annually per eligible family. Beyond financial aid, this initiative aims to strengthen women’s decision-making role within households, enabling better prioritization of nutrition, health, and long-term security.
Healthcare is positioned as a right, not a financial burden. The manifesto promises expanded coverage under Ayushman Bharat for all Malayalees, ensuring that medical costs do not push families into poverty. Complementing this is the proposal to establish an All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Kerala, enhancing access to advanced treatment and strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
Reducing daily living costs is another priority. Subsidized domestic electricity aims to ensure uninterrupted and affordable power supply. Additionally, every household is promised up to 20,000 litres of free water per month, addressing long-standing gaps in reliable water access and moving toward universal water security.
The welfare framework also includes a ₹3,000 monthly pension for poor women, widows, and senior citizens above 70, offering consistent financial support. Cultural sensitivity is reflected through the provision of two free LPG cylinders annually during Onam and Christmas, helping reduce household expenses.
On the development front, the manifesto proposes a high-speed rail corridor from Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur to improve connectivity and boost economic opportunities. It also highlights governance reforms, including greater devotee participation in managing temples such as Sabarimala Temple and Guruvayoor Temple, alongside a transparent probe into the Sabarimala gold theft case.
Overall, the manifesto presents a model where essential needs are secured, costs are eased, and development is inclusive—enabling every Malayalee to move forward with confidence and stability.
