India Space Congress 2026 Set to Bring Together 600+ Participants from 25+ Countries to Shape the Next Phase of the Global Space Economy

SIA-India is set to host the India Space Congress (ISC) 2026, India’s premier space industry conference, from  15–17 June 2026

New Delhi, 11th June 2026:  The Space Industry Association of India (SIA-India) is set to host the India Space Congress (ISC) 2026, India’s premier space industry conference, from 15–17 June 2026  with the theme ‘Reimagining Space Reinventing Collaboration Realising the Next Era of Space’ at Le Meridien, New Delhi. Bringing together policymakers, global space agencies, defence leaders, diplomats, investors, industry captains, researchers, startups and academia, ISC 2026 is expected to be one of the largest and most influential gatherings of the space ecosystem in the region.

This year’s Congress is expected to attract over 600 participants, including  more than 200 speakers and moderators, with representation from  over 25 countries and participation from government agencies, international organisations, private industry, research institutions and strategic stakeholders from across the globe. ISC will feature an exceptional lineup of national and international leaders from government, diplomacy, industry, defence, academia and the global space community. Distinguished participants include Dr. Pawan Goenka, Chairman, IN-SPACe; His Excellency Mr. Christian Biever, Ambassador of Luxembourg to India; Ambassador Rakesh Sood, Former Ambassador and Special Envoy for Space Affairs; Dr. Shailesh Nayak, Director, NIAS and Former Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences

Spread over three days, ISC 2026 will feature over 60 sessions, strategic dialogues, workshops and leadership discussions, covering topics ranging from satellite communications, Direct-to-Device connectivity, Earth observation, geospatial intelligence, launch systems, in-orbit servicing, navigation, defence space, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, space sustainability, manufacturing, investment, policy and international cooperation.

The Congress comes at a defining moment for the global space sector. As the global space economy moves toward the trillion-dollar mark and India targets a USD 44 billion space economy by 2033, discussions at ISC 2026 will focus on the next phase of growth—market creation, investment mobilisation, industrial scale-up, strategic resilience, and global competitiveness.

A major highlight of ISC 2026 will be the release of several flagship reports and publications developed in collaboration with leading knowledge partners. These include Space, Strategy & the Future World Order – Perspectives from DEFSAT 2026, Connecting the Unconnected: Designing India’s Regulatory Framework for Direct-to-Device Satellite Services, Reframing Space from “Enabling Layer” to “Critical Infrastructure”, **Building India’s On-Orbit Servicing and Refueling Ecosystem: Policy, Partnerships and Pathways Forward, and **India’s Space Investment Outlook 2026: Assessing Investment Readiness and Market Potential*.

The Congress will also witness the launch of the *Indian Space Industry E-Catalog Platform (Space Digital Industry Directory) , designed to strengthen industry visibility, collaboration and market access across the ecosystem.

Beyond the usual agenda, ISC 2026 will showcase SIA-India’s growing focus on talent development, innovation and future leadership. The Congress will host the I ndia Space Policy Ideathon , jointly organised with Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC). The policy ideathon also known as GeoNiti is the country’s first national platform connecting space policy, Earth observation, climate intelligence and public policy to nurture the next generation of space leaders. The initiative complements SIA-India’s recent recognition as a Space Tutor under ISRO’s START programme. ISC 2026 will also witness the announcement of winners of the highly successful Call for Papers Programme in association with Centre of Excellence (CoE) SpaceTech Foundation established by the Government of Karnataka through KITS (Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society) and SIA partnership. The CFP initiative received an exceptional response and high-quality submissions from academia, industry, startups and researchers across the country, reflecting the growing maturity and innovation potential of India’s space ecosystem. Both initiatives will be recognised during the SIA Space Excellence Awards Ceremony.

ISC 2026 enjoys support from a broad coalition of government institutions, industry bodies, academic institutions and international organisations. Supporting organisations include the *Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), **Ministry of Defence – Department of Defence Production, **NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), **Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), **Government e-Marketplace (GeM), **National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), **The Aeronautical Society of India, **Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), **Aryabhatta Knowledge University, **Space Enterprise Council, **Satellite Industry Association (USA), **SPACETIDE Foundation (Japan), **Geospatial World Chamber of Commerce, **T-Hub*, and several other national and international partners.

The event is supported by *Ananth Technologies* and *NELCO* as Gold partners, *Hughes Communications India* as SATCOM Partner, and leading knowledge partners including *Deloitte, **EY, **Novaspace, **GraySpace Consulting, **Synergia Foundation, and **TMT Law Practice. The **Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS)* serves as the Defence Knowledge Partner.

Commenting on the upcoming Congress, *Mr. Anil Prakash, Director General, SIA-India*, said:

” As the economy becomes increasingly dependent on space-enabled communications, navigation, digital infrastructure, financial systems, logistics and national security applications, there is a strong case for viewing space as critical infrastructure. At ISC we are deliberating upon this aspect that the CI recognition is not merely about protecting assets; it is about creating the conditions for growth which can help unlock infrastructure-style financing, improve access to long-term capital, strengthen investor confidence and support the development of globally competitive space enterprises. Also that any future regulatory frameworks including the Space Activities bill must balance compliance obligations with enabling incentives so that resilience, innovation and commercial growth advance together. ISC 2026 provides an important platform for shaping this next phase of India’s space journey.”

*Dr. Subba Rao Pavuluri, President, SIA-India*, added:

“To achieve India’s ambition of becoming a USD 44 billion space economy requires predictable regulation, stronger demand signals, risk-sharing mechanisms, deeper industry-academia collaboration and access to long-term growth capital. The discussions at ISC 2026 are therefore not only about technology and policy; they are about building the foundations of a globally competitive space economy capable of attracting investment, creating markets and delivering long-term economic value”

With participation from leading global space agencies, defence organisations, investors, satellite operators, launch companies, technology providers, manufacturers, startups and researchers, ISC 2026 is expected to serve as a key platform for shaping the future of India’s space sector and strengthening its role in the global space economy.
