Delhi; 27th June 2026 – In response to the recent rise in fire incidents, Havells, with the support of Delhi Police, has intensified efforts to curb the manufacture and supply of counterfeit electrical wire packaging in Delhi NCR and nearby regions. Havells has also urged the authorities to take strict action against the growing circulation of spurious electrical products.
On 7th June 2026, raids were conducted at two locations in Chandni Chowk and Karawal Nagar, resulting in the detention of Mohd. Shohel and Mohd. Ilyas and the seizure of approximately 11,600 counterfeit outer box packaging sheets.
A subsequent raid on 22nd June 2026 at locations in Mandoli and Shahdara led to the seizure of approximately 35,000 counterfeit outer box packaging sheets, 15 printing dies, 1 die-cutting machine, and 2 printing machines. The setup was being managed by Vijay Kumar. However, his associates, Sourabh and Tosif Khan were arrested.
