Chandigarh, June 29, 2026: To mark National Electrical Safety Day, Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL) on Monday flagged off an awareness vehicle to educate consumers about electrical safety.
The vehicle was flagged off by CPDL Director Arun Kumar Verma and CEO Brajesh Kumar from Sector 34 in the presence of senior officials and employees.
The initiative aims to spread awareness among consumers through mobile public announcements across different parts of the city. The battery-operated vehicle, equipped with a public address system, will travel through various sectors and residential areas, disseminating important messages on electrical safety and precautions to be observed during the monsoon season.
The awareness vehicle will also educate people about the importance of using standard electrical fittings and exercising caution while carrying out any activity near electricity infrastructure.
CPDL officials said that the awareness drive forms part of a series of activities being organised during National Electrical Safety Week to promote a culture of safety among consumers and employees. The objective is to minimise electrical accidents and encourage safe practices for the protection of life and property.
CPDL has appealed to all consumers to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines.
