Controversy Erupts Over Antara Banerjee’s Identity 

Says, “I Have No Connection With This FIR”

Mumbai (Anil Bedag). One photograph, a case of mistaken identity, and suddenly, chaos! Television and web actress Antara Banerjee was left deeply disturbed after her photograph and identity were allegedly used in reports related to an FIR. Addressing the media at a press conference, the actress made it clear, “I have no connection with this FIR case.”

Known for shows such as Bado Bahu, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kawach Mahashivratri, Divya Drishti, Hero – Gayab Mode On, Laal Ishq, Gumrah and Savdhaan India, Antara said that the FIR actually concerns Antara Soham Banerjee, a model residing in Thane. However, her photograph was reportedly published in some reports, creating confusion about her identity.

Antara revealed that within just 24 hours of the reports surfacing, she received more than 900 phone calls, WhatsApp messages and social media messages. The sudden situation caused considerable mental stress for both her and her family.

The actress said, “A simple verification could have made it clear that I have no connection with this matter. My identity, which I have built through years of hard work, has been affected because of a mistake.” Antara appealed to media organisations and digital platforms to immediately correct any reports where her photograph or identity has been incorrectly used. She clarified that her intention is not to criticise the media, but to highlight the importance of responsible journalism and fact-checking.

Her message is clear: misinformation can spread within minutes, but building a reputation takes years.
