Mindgrove Technologies is one of India’s leading startups in the semiconductor industry. The company was launched in 2021 and is based in Chennai. Mindgrove Technologies focuses primarily on designing innovative SoCs (System on Chip) and hardware. SoCs are crucial in today’s hi-tech world, as they are widely used across smartphones, tablets, IoT (Internet of Things) devices, embedded systems and various other electronic devices.

It is tech startups like Mindgrove Technologies that are helping reduce India’s dependence on semiconductors and related hardware. Mindgrove Technologies is also emerging as a hub for exports. The company is aggressively targeting the global market for SoCs that is expected to reach $1 trillion in value by 2030.

Mindgrove Technologies – Key Products and Applications

As of now, the flagship product is MG Secure IoT. It is a 700MHz high-performance MCU Secure IoT prototype that can be used for specific IoT applications. MG Secure IoT is powered by the Shakti core and is the smallest in its class. Some of the key benefits include low cost and longer battery life. Users can expect optimal safety, as Secure IoT utilizes hardware accelerated encryption to safeguard data.

All the advanced safety features have been implemented such as AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), Secure Boot, SHA (Secure Hash Algorithm) and RSA. MG Secure IoT has on-chip crypto accelerators and FIPS-140-2 certified OTP, TRNG. Power consumption is pretty low at under 200mW. It makes the Secure IoT perfectly suited for applications that need long battery life.

Mindgrove Technologies is already using their platform for various applications such as smart locks, smart watches, smart utility meters, thermal printers, smart fans and biometric modules. The company is open to collaborations and co-creation, as per the client’s specific needs and preferences. Mindgrove Technologies is also working on new products such as Vision SOC and Edge Compute. These will find applications in various segments including the auto industry.

Mindgrove Technologies – Founders

Mindgrove Technologies was founded by T.R. Shashwath and Sharan Jagathrakshakan. Shashwath currently serves as the CEO at Mindgrove Technologies. Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Shashwath had worked with Lucid Software Limited as a software engineer. He has a Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering degree from SRM Engineering College.

Co-founder Sharan Jagathrakshakan currently serves as the CTO at Mindgrove Technologies. Prior to this, he had worked as a research scholar at IIT Madras on a part time basis. Other companies he had worked at include Lucid Software Limited, ETH Zurich and Waran Research Foundation. Sharan’s educational qualifications include Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Computer Science from Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College; Master of Science (M.Sc.), Computational Science and Engineering from ETH Zürich; and Doctor of Philosophy – PhD, Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
