Actor Sayaji Shinde Flags Off Free Mammography Initiative at TGH Onco Life Centre

In a dedicated effort to promote early cancer detection, Shri Sayaji Shinde inaugurated a free mammography initiative at Onco Life Cancer Centre, Talegaon, Dabhade, emphasizing the need for accessible cancer care for underprivileged communities

Talegaon, Dabhade: Noted actor and environmentalist Shri Sayaji Shinde inaugurated a free mammography initiative at Onco Life Cancer Centre, Talegaon, Dabhade. These efforts aim to bring early detection services to underprivileged women and rural communities, strengthening the hospital’s mission of affordable and accessible cancer care.

The inauguration began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by the unveiling of a commemorative plaque that marked the beginning of the free mammography service for women in need. Shri. Sayaji Shinde was warmly welcomed by Mr. Uday Deshmukh (Chairman) and Mr. Sachin Deshmukh (Managing Director), and Ganesh Khandge (President) of Onco Life Cancer Centre.

During his visit, Shri Sayaji Shinde was given a comprehensive walkthrough of the hospital’s facilities, including the Radixact X9 AI-based radiation therapy machine, the ICU, wards, and PET-CT scanning unit. Experts from the centre explained how advanced technology is being harnessed for precision treatment and better outcomes. To symbolise the hospital’s commitment to health and the environment, Shri Sayaji Shinde also took part in a tree plantation drive alongside the hospital staff.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Sachin Deshmukh, Managing Director of TGH Onco Life Cancer Centre, said, “The launch of our free mammography service marks a pivotal step toward taking early cancer detection directly to the people who need it the most. With rising cancer cases, especially among women, timely diagnosis can save lives. These initiatives reflect our dedication to community outreach and equitable healthcare.”

Appreciating the initiative, Shri. Sayaji Shinde said, “It’s heartening to see Onco Life Cancer Centre actively working on the ground to fight cancer. Early detection is the key to survival, and providing free mammography to the underprivileged shows a true sense of social responsibility.
