All India K-pop Contest marks 15 years with Grand Finale in New Delhi, K-Pop Boy Band ‘NOMAD’ to perform on July 19

India’s biggest live celebration of Korean pop culture is set to return with a bang as the All India K-pop Contest 2025 marks its 15th edition with a Grand Finale in New Delhi on July 19. The event, organised by Korean Cultural Centre India, will be held 04:00 pm onwards at the OP Jindal Auditorium in Qutab Institutional Area.

Adding to the excitement, upcoming K-pop boyband ‘NOMAD’ will make their India debut at the Grand Finale on July 19. Known for their powerful choreography, strong stage presence, and genre-blending music, the K-pop boyband debuted in 2024 and has quickly made waves in the global K-pop scene. The K-pop group consists of five members – Sangha, Doy, One, Rivr, and Junho – and already has notable achievements in their career as they were recognised as an “Asia Rookie” at the 2024 Tokyo Hallyu Expo. In a special ‘Fan Meeting’ session to be organised at 4 pm, members of NOMAD will interact with their local fans in India.

The contest has grown into a national platform for aspiring Indian K-pop artists since its inception in 2011. This year, 15 teams from across India—five each in the Vocal, Dance, and Rap categories—will compete for the top honours. Winners will be awarded cash prizes of ₹2,00,000 for the first spot, ₹1,00,000 for the second spot, and ₹50,000 for the third spot in each category. Moreover, the champions will be nominated to represent India at the prestigious ‘K-Pop World Festival’ to be organised in Changwon, South Korea, later this year.

The immense love for K-pop amongst the youngsters in India can be gauged by the fact that there were 1,278 team registrations for the contest from across the country. The regional round of the contest were held in 10 cities including Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Itanagar, Bhopal, New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kohima and Hyderabad, and received overwhelming love and support from the local K-pop groups. Now, the competition has narrowed down to the top 15 participants, who will compete in the Grand Finale on July 19.

True to its tagline, “One Beat, One India, Over a Decade of K-pop”, the All India K-pop Contest has played a pioneering role in the spread of Hallyu (the Korean Wave) in India. The contest has provided a valuable stage for young fans to express their passion and talent through K-pop music and dance, and has become a central hub for K-pop communities that have organically formed across the country. With participation growing each year, the contest has evolved beyond a simple competition to become a symbolic representation of the cultural bond between Korea and India.

Hwang Il Yong, Director of Korean Cultural Centre India said, “India is a country with so much talent and an immense love for K-pop and Korean culture. This is the reason that the All India K-pop Contest is celebrating its 15th edition this year with a spectacular Grand Finale in New Delhi. This event has been held for the past 15 years under all circumstances as it is a very meaningful festival for young people in India. Now, we are all very excited and eagerly look forward to the performances that will be on display at the Grand Finale on July 19.”
