Punjab, 22 September 2025: Ambuja Cements, the cement and building materials company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, as part of its CSR is promoting food security and nutrition through household kitchen gardens across villages in Bathinda.
More than four hundred families in Mehma Sawai and neighbouring villages received training and seed kits to grow vegetables like spinach, lady finger and bottle gourd in backyard plots. These crops help improve haemoglobin levels, support healthy weight and provide daily nutrition which is all promoted as part of the Non-Communicable Diseases Program supported by Ambuja Cements. Women and adolescent girls led the effort, while Self Help Groups promoted local sale of surplus produce and spread awareness on balanced diets and cooking habits.
By making home-grown nutrition accessible and sustainable, Ambuja Cements is helping rural families take control of their health. The initiative has turned everyday meals into a tool for resilience, with kitchen gardens becoming a trusted source of nourishment and confidence in villages across Bathinda.
