Anant National University Opens Admissions for the 2025 Anant Fellowship for Climate Action

Ahmedabad, March 2025: Anant National University’s Anant School for Climate Action, India’s first climate school, has opened admissions for the 2025 Anant Fellowship for Climate Action cohort. The last date to submit the application is 7 April 2025, with the programme set to begin on 14 April 2025.

The Fellowship is an immersive eight-month programme based on a mentor-mentee framework tailored for individuals already implementing solutions to mitigate climate change. It helps Fellows leverage their existing skills for broader climate action.

The curriculum unfolds across five terms, each focusing on a specific area to develop climate change solutions. Fellows gain exposure, skills, mentorship and opportunities to scale up established solutions that are critical for countering climate change. The course structure allows the Fellows a flexible approach and learn at their own pace and schedule.

The programme aims to create a community of climate change solutionaries who collaborate and cross-pollinate each other’s work with ideas and expertise from across sectors and regions, with select classes offered at locations affected by climate change or where solutions are being implemented.

In 2024, the Fellowship welcomed participants from 10 countries, with 33% women and 14% PhD scholars aged between 16 and 63. This diverse cohort reinforced its global appeal, diversity and openness to individuals at various career stages.

A unique aspect of the programme is the 10-day Community Immersion at Ahmedabad, during which the faculty, mentors and alumni engage in extensive practical learning through climate expert guest lectures, field trips and climate laboratory work at Anant National University.

The climate change industry is poised at $23 trillion globally, estimated to create 3 trillion jobs worldwide, with India alone having the potential to create 3 million jobs in the renewable energy sector by 2030. This offers Fellows ample career-building opportunities within India and abroad in various sectors, including clean energy, green technologies and sustainable industries.
