Dial 1800-203-1066 for any cancer query
Ahmedabad, August 12, 2025 – With India’s cancer burden projected to rise to 2.08 million cases by 2040 — a 57.5% increase from 2020 — the need for timely support, early intervention, and reliable information has never been greater. Addressing this urgent need, Apollo Cancer Centres (ACC) has launched the country’s first dedicated 24×7 Cancer Care Helpline: 1800-203-1066.
The toll-free service offers a multi-faceted support platform, including personalised guidance, expert medical opinions, emotional counselling, and organ-specific navigation assistance for cancer patients and their families
This helpline, designed to be India’s most reliable and easily accessible touchpoint for cancer-related support, is a step toward eliminating confusion, fear, and isolation often experienced by patients and caregivers. From clarifying treatment pathways to scheduling virtual consultations and connecting callers to organ-specific Cancer Management Teams, this service will function as a critical support bridge throughout one’s cancer journey.
Mr. Dinesh Madhavan, President – Group Oncology & International, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited, stated, “With the launch of India’s first toll-free cancer helpline, we further reinforce our commitment to accessible cancer care, early detection, and compassionate care— because timely conversations with experts can often be the turning point in winning over cancer.”
Cdr Jelson Kavalakkat, CEO, Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad said, “Every call to the helpline represents a moment of uncertainty, whether it’s a patient newly diagnosed or a family seeking direction. With this service, we ensure that no one has to navigate the cancer journey alone. It offers structured, compassionate support exactly when it’s needed most. This helpline marks a pivotal step in proactive cancer care and embodies our commitment to making expert oncology guidance accessible to all anytime, anywhere.”
According to the WHO, every year, nearly 1.4 million new cases are registered. A lack of early screening, misinformation, and delayed care often worsens outcomes. The ACCs’ helpline aims to address this gap by serving as a dependable first point of contact for those unsure of where to start or whom to trust.
With this initiative, Apollo Cancer Centres reaffirms its dedication to supporting individuals affected by cancer.
