BharatPe Nominates Banking Veteran Anil Kishora on the Board of Unity Bank

  • Over four decades of experience in banking, holding several key leadership positions across domestic and international operations
National, 18th November 2025: BharatPe, India’s leading fintech and UPI payments platform, today announced the appointment of Mr. Anil Kishora,  as its Non-Executive Non-Independent Director on the Board of Unity Small Finance Bank (Unity Bank), where BharatPe and Centrum Financial Services are shareholders. Mr. Kishora is a veteran in the banking and financial services industry, with over 40 years of experience across domestic and international operations.
BharatPe had earlier nominated Sumeet Singh (Chief Legal & Corporate Affairs) on the board of Unity. Mr. Anil Kishora and Sumeet are now representing BharatPe on Unity’s board and will be working closely with the Board and management of Unity.
The significant move further cements BharatPe’s commitment to strong governance and long-term value creation. Mr. Kishora’s career reflects deep expertise in risk management, international banking, strategic expansion, and human resources.
In his latest stint, he served as the Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of the New Development Bank (NDB), a multilateral development bank founded by the BRICS countries and headquartered in Shanghai, China, from July 2020 to August 2025.
Prior to joining the NDB, Mr. Kishora worked for the State Bank of India (SBI) for more than 37 years in almost all areas of banking, including retail, corporate and international banking. During his long career with SBI, Mr. Kishora has held several senior roles, including the Deputy Managing Director & CRO, Chief General Manager at the bank’s Local Head Office in Chandigarh and CEO of SBI, Singapore.
He has also been a Council Member of Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS), a board member of the International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers (IACPM), New York, and director on the boards of Macquarie SBI Infrastructure Management Pte. Ltd., Singapore and Macquarie SBI Infrastructure Trustee Ltd, Bermuda.
