BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ Set to Highlight Growing Calls for Change in Jharkhand, Targets Hemant Government

As the Jharkhand assembly elections approach, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing to launch its ‘Parivartan Yatra’ (Change Rally) to challenge the Hemant Soren-led government. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate this rally today, September 20, from Bhognadih in Sahibganj.

Running from September 20 to October 3, the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ aims to rally public support against the JMM-Congress coalition. The party calls for the liberation of Jharkhand from what it describes as a corrupt and anti-people government.

Through this campaign, the BJP intends to bring to light the failings of Hemant Soren’s administration. With the slogan “Neither will we tolerate, nor will we remain silent, we will bring change,” the BJP aims to mobilize voters across the state.

What is BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’?

Amit Shah will launch the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ from Sahibganj, with the goal of unseating the JMM-Congress government in the upcoming elections. The BJP plans to conduct six ‘Parivartan Yatras’ across different regions of Jharkhand, covering 5,400 kilometers across all 81 assembly constituencies and 24 districts. The yatra, which will run until October 3, will traverse Jharkhand’s divisions: Santhal Pargana, Palamu, North and South Chotanagpur, and Kolhan, engaging with voters at the grassroots level.

Taking to the social media platform X, the BJP accused the JMM-Congress government of allowing Jharkhand’s people to suffer under corruption. They stated that mafia forces, in collaboration with corrupt officials, are exploiting the state’s resources. The party promised to bring about a wave of change by reaching every block, household, and family through the ‘Parivartan Yatra.’ They urged the public to support them in safeguarding Jharkhand’s resources and dignity by voting for the BJP.

The BJP is positioning the ‘Parivartan Yatra’ not merely as a political exercise, but as a demonstration of its commitment to bring tangible change to Jharkhand. The party is focusing on core issues such as development, employment, and preserving social harmony to create a brighter future for the state’s citizens.

Liberation from Family Rule

The BJP accused the Soren family of maintaining a stranglehold on Jharkhand’s politics since the establishment of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in 1973. The party claims that nepotism and betrayal have defined the JMM’s leadership. Following allegations of family dominance, veteran JMM leader Champai Soren’s defection to the BJP has deepened public perception of nepotism within the JMM.

Liberation from Corruption

The BJP has also targeted the Hemant Soren government for widespread corruption. Since taking office in 2019, Jharkhand has been marred by scandals, from the seizure of INR 17 crore from an IAS officer’s associate to allegations of disproportionate assets against the Chief Minister. The BJP intends to expose these issues during the campaign.

Holding Criminals and the Corrupt Accountable

If elected, the BJP pledged to bring criminals and corrupt officials to justice, arguing that the current government has failed to take any meaningful action against wrongdoers.

Advocating for Tribal Communities

The BJP criticized Hemant Soren for neglecting the state’s tribal population, despite winning their votes in the last election. BJP leaders expressed concern over the declining tribal population, attributing it to the Soren government’s lax policies towards illegal immigration, which they argue threatens indigenous communities.

Industrial Development and Infrastructure

The BJP has also highlighted the state government’s failure to develop industries and infrastructure. Despite allocating substantial funds for these sectors, the party questioned the government’s progress and commitment to meaningful economic growth in the state.

Tackling Unemployment

Addressing unemployment is one of the BJP’s primary objectives. The party pointed to Hemant Soren’s unfulfilled promise of creating 500,000 jobs, and recent tragic incidents, such as the deaths of 12 candidates during a recruitment test, as evidence of the state government’s failures in this area.

Preserving Jharkhand’s Identity

The BJP argued that the state’s cultural and social identity is at risk under the current leadership. They emphasized the need for a change in government to safeguard Jharkhand’s unique identity and protect it from harmful policies.

Strengthening BJP’s Influence through ‘Parivartan Yatra’

The BJP aims to consolidate its influence in Jharkhand by directly addressing local issues during the ‘Parivartan Yatra.’ By connecting with voters at the grassroots level, the party seeks to understand their needs and propose solutions that resonate with the electorate. Through this effort, the BJP hopes to build a foundation for more inclusive and effective governance in the state.
