CM Tamang continues visits to flood affected areas of Sikkim

New Delhi October 10: Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang visited the disaster affected areas of Manglay, Shirawani Dalep Gammon Bridge, Rekep Government Primary School, Indrani Bridge, Adarshgaon and Shree. Krishna Pranami Mangaldham camp, Bermiok-Namphing under Namchi District, on Monday. He was accompained by cabinet ministers and Officials from the state government.

It maybe mentioned that the Chief Minister accompained by the Ministers are regularly visiting and taking stock of the necessary assessments and protective measures of the affected areas which were hit by the recent disaster.

The Chief Minister while at Manglay 3rd IRB Battalion Camp informed that the fire range will be relocated and for this he directed the concerned department to look for alternate land. He proceeded towards Sainotar and met with the affected families whose houses were reported to be washed away by the disaster.

Similarly, the Chief Minister inspected Shirawani Dalep Gammon Bridge where he instructed the NHPC officials to start working on the existing dam for thoroughfare and to complete it within 21 days to cater various transport services.

Furthermore, he visited Rekep Government Primary School, where he interacted with the rescued familes of the disaster.

The Chief Minister alongwith the dignitary also visited Adarshgaon and Indrani Bridge, Singtam where he updated that the Mamring road will be cleared for conveyance of essential goods. He also examined the areas adversely affected by the disaster at Adarshgaon and interacted with the public.

Thereafter, he met with the people accommodated at Shree. Krishna Pranami Mangaldham camp, he shared his heartfelt sympathies and informed that the State Government will consistently support them in getting back to normalcy. He added that all the temporary relief camps are safe and secured complete with essential goods and with qualified medical teams.

At all the affected places which the Chief Minister visited, he assured full support from the State Government and gave a sum total of Rs. Fifty Thousand each as an emergency relief fund. The rescued people were also assured by him that a total of Rs one lakh each will be disbursed to them from Chief Ministers Relief Fund (CMRF).

As for people living in the camp they were informed that the State Government will accommodate them at rental houses and if, anyone has property in the form of land at safer places, the Government will build houses under Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana, respectively. As for the loss of official documents the Chief Minister said that the office of Districts Magistrate will assess and the geniune individuals will be certified.
