Countdown to Triumph: Bengaluru’s inaugural edition of SFA Championships will announce the “number one school in sports”, tomorrow

Bengaluru, January 24th, 2024: Amidst the spirited ambiance of Bengaluru, the inaugural edition of SFA Championships entered its 11th day today, with the energetic kick-off of Kho-Kho. The city’s emerging athletes showcased their prowess across sports like chess, basketball, football, kho-kho and more. Tomorrow marks the conclusion of the 1st edition of SFA Championships, in Bengaluru, where the ‘number one school in sports’ in the city, will be revealed. Additionally, the ‘Golden Boy’ and ‘Golden Girl’ titles will be conferred, recognising and empowering young athletes who have won podium positions in multi-sports.

Today the highlight of the day centred around Kho-Kho competitions, featuring the spirited participation of U-14 Boys and Girls, along with their counterparts in the U-18 Boys category.

In sync with this vibrant sporting atmosphere, Delhi Public School, Bangalore East, has emerged as the undisputed sports powerhouse, excelling across the sports in Athletics, Chess, Karate, Throwball, and Volleyball. Following closely is Vidyashilp Academy, Yelahanka, showcasing power in Basketball, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Volleyball. Meanwhile, Delhi Public School, Electronic City, distinguished itself with stellar achievements in Badminton, Chess, Shooting, Karate, Table Tennis, and Speedcubing. These top three schools collectively dominate across various sports, embodying a commitment to athletic excellence and well-rounded sporting achievements.

Results poured in from the Chess arena, with competitions spanning with tactical moves and checkmate brilliance from U-9 to U-19 Boys and Girls categories. The Basketball U-16 Boys and Girls finals kept the audience on the edge of their seats, setting the stage for electrifying moments. Football enthusiasts witnessed thrilling matches in U-10, U-12, and U-14 categories, with updates on the progress of Football in U-14, U-16, and U-18 categories adding to the anticipation.
