Deep Tech Start-Up Summit 2025 Showcases India’s Innovation Drive at NMIT

Bengaluru, September 16, 2025 – The Deep Tech Start-Up Summit 2025, hosted on September 12–13 at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Bengaluru, concluded on a high note, bringing together more than 100 innovators, start-up founders, industry leaders, investors, and academicians from across the country. With the theme “Engineering the Future: Deep Tech for Viksit Bharat,” the summit highlighted the transformative potential of deep technologies in shaping India’s growth story. The summit was organized in collaboration with I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), Technology Innovation Hub, IIT Delhi, SRM University and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, Bangalore Chapter..

The summit was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guests – Mr. Ashutosh Dutt Sharma, CEO, IHFC, IIT Delhi, and Dr. T. Asokan, Professor, IIT Madras. Shri Rohit Punja, Administrator, Nitte Education Trust; Dr. Sandeep Shastri, Vice President, Nitte Deemed to be University (Bengaluru Campus); Dr. H. C. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT; and Dr. Prashanth Nagaraja, Program Director, Deep Tech Start-Up Summit 2025 & Head, Department of Robotics and AI, NMIT, were also present as dignitaries on the dais.

In his keynote, Mr. Sharma underscored the importance of deep tech start-ups in fueling economic development and called for stronger translational research ecosystems in India. Dr. Asokan emphasized the need to bridge the academia–industry gap, highlighting that research outcomes must be fast-tracked to align with the immediate requirements of industry.

Over two power-packed days, the summit featured:

  • Keynote addresses and technical talks on robotics, AI, semiconductors, sustainability, and embedded systems.

  • Panel discussions on topics including start-up journeys, academia–industry synergy, and commercializing research & IP.

  • A product launch by NMIT-incubated start-up Newrro Tech LLP, which unveiled next-generation EdTech solutions.

  • A start-up pitch competition where young entrepreneurs showcased their innovations, competing for awards such as Best Pitch, Most Promising Technology, and People’s Choice.

The event created a vibrant platform for networking, collaboration, and investor engagement, providing participating start-ups an opportunity to secure incubation and funding support of up to ₹25 lakhs at NMIT’s Co-Innovation Centre in collaboration with IHFC, IIT Delhi.

The summit concluded with an award ceremony recognizing the most impactful innovations and inspiring a collective vision of building India’s deep tech ecosystem. Speaking at the closing, Dr. Prashanth Nagaraja remarked, “The Deep Tech Start-Up Summit 2025 has brought together brilliant minds and demonstrated how academia, industry, and start-ups can co-create solutions for national development. This is just the beginning of a larger movement.”
