Educate Girls Appoints Gayatri Nair Lobo as CEO to Scale Education for Millions

A systems thinker with deep grassroots experience, Gayatri brings a fresh perspective as Educate Girls enters a transformative new chapter.

Mumbai, April 29, 2025 | Leading nonprofit organisation Educate Girls, dedicated to bringing girls back to education, has appointed Gayatri Nair Lobo as its new Chief Executive Officer. A seasoned leader with nearly 25 years of experience across consulting and the development sector, Gayatri takes the helm at a defining moment as the organisation sets out on its most ambitious goal yet: impacting 10 million learners in 10 years.

Known for her systems approach and ability to drive change from the grassroots to the policy level, Gayatri brings a powerful blend of strategic foresight and operational depth. She has led large-scale, high-impact initiatives – from rejuvenating 5,000 waterbodies across India to shaping national-level discourse on sustainable farming and education reform. Her past roles as CEO of both the A.T.E. Chandra Foundation and India School Leadership Institute (ISLI), alongside senior leadership positions at Teach For India and Dalberg Advisors, have shaped her into one of the sector’s most trusted leaders in equity and institutional change.
