Empowering Youth for a Skilled Tomorrow: THSC Marks National Youth Skill Day 2025 with Renewed Commitment to Skilling and Employment

On National Youth Skill Day, the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) reiterates its pledge to upskill India’s youth with industry-specific skills towards creating a self-sustaining and future-capable workforce. While the nation celebrates the potential of its young talent, THSC persists in bridging the educational-hirability-entrepreneurial gap in the tourism, travel, and hospitality industries.

With the hospitality and tourism sector being one of the major propellers of India’s economy, the need for trained manpower has seen a significant surge. THSC, under the leadership of Jyoti Mayal, has played a pivotal role in aligning skill sets with international benchmarks, implementing cutting-edge training modules, and engaging with industry stakeholders to enable all-round development of the youngsters.

Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson, THSC, said “The youth of India are not only the future they are the present. With proper training, exposure, and mentorship, they can revolutionize India’s tourism and hospitality industry. On this National Youth Skill Day, I appeal to our youth citizens to adopt skilling as the first step towards empowerment and financial independence. At THSC, we continue to work towards empowering every aspiring professional with hands-on knowledge, digital skills, and entrepreneurial orientations.”

Over the past year, THSC has launched several targeted skilling initiatives under Skill India Mission and collaborated with state governments, vocational institutes, and private stakeholders to widen the skilling ecosystem. These initiatives have impacted thousands of youths in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, many of whom are now employed or running small enterprises.

THSC also stresses soft skills, language education, and online literacy in building a globally competitive workforce. With emerging sectors like wellness tourism, ecotourism, and digital concierge services becoming popular, the council is constantly updating its curriculum to align with the changing industry dynamics.

With India progressing towards the goal of emerging as a world tourism center, skilling the youth is also the foremost pillar supporting sustainable growth and inclusive development
