“Proud and defiant, Saraswati Devi is an enigma who is taking this male dominated world by storm. After playing such a powerful character on screen I realised what it takes to be a woman in Indian politics,” she has said in an interview.
When we asked her about what it takes to be a woman in Indian politics, she explains, “Courage man. Courage. I feel in the 90s it must have been so difficult for women to make a name for themselves,” she adds how things are comparatively easier for women while she reminisces how hard it was earlier for men to take instructions from a “woman”.
Mahie in real life talks with as much conviction as her character, Saraswati Devi from Raktanchal 2, “Kiti jagaah female foeticide ho raha hai. Ladka chaiye. Ladka chaiye. That has to change. Government has given equal rights,” she also believes that women have as much capability to support their parents as the men do.
