Sidus Port from Fratelli Wines is a premium port wine featuring a blend of red varietals. The wine comes from the company’s vineyard in Baramati, which is located in the Deccan plateau region. Situated at an altitude of 548 meters above sea level, the vineyard provides the perfect conditions to cultivate the desired quality of grapes, as needed to make great tasting wine. The grape plants in the vineyard have been imported from France and cultivated with optimum care to ensure the best quality of grapes. The vineyard is spread across 240 acres of virgin land and features gentle slopes that help grow the best quality grapes.
Winemaking Style
Fratelli has taken great care of its vineyard to ensure the smooth taste of its various wine brands including Sidus Port. As many as 350,000 saplings were handpicked from vineyards in France and Italy and carefully planted in the company’s vineyard at Akluj. Specialized irrigation and spraying techniques are utilized to ensure the consistent quality of grapes. The focus is more on quality rather than quality, which is why yield per acre at Fratelli vineyard has been kept at half the industry average. This helps produce the best quality grapes. The vineyard features organic soil and follows a Y system cultivation technique. Grapes are handpicked from 8 am to 6 pm and fermented in stainless steel tanks at 20-25 degree Celsius. The wine is also further aged in separate stainless steel tanks.

The founders include the Secci brothers, Andrea and Alessio from Italy; Sekhri brothers Kapil and Gaurav; and the Mohite-Patil brothers, Ranjitsinh and Arjunsinh. The common dream of all the founders was to produce an international quality wine in India, all while utilizing the traditional Italian wine making style that has been in existence since many centuries. The love and passion that the founders share for wine motivated them to launch Fratelli Wines in India. Fratelli currently offers 17 different types of wines and has become the second most distributed wine brand in India.
