IIT Saarang Goes Digital; Headstream Technologies to Issue Digital Credentials for Saarang 2026

26th December, Chennai, India:

Headstream Technologies, an education technology company focused on building digital infrastructure for the recognition and verification of learning and achievement, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Saarang, appointing Headstream as the Digital Credentialing Partner for Saarang 2026.
Under this collaboration, more than 80,000 student participants from over 500 colleges across India will receive verifiable digital certificates for their participation in Saarang 2026, one of the country’s largest student-run cultural festivals.
All certificates for Saarang 2026 will be issued digitally through Headstream’s credentialing platform, Profential, replacing traditional paper-based certificates. This transition represents a significant move towards a sustainable, digital-first approach to recognition at scale.
Participants will receive instant access to a secure digital wallet where their credentials and certificates are stored permanently. These credentials are fully verifiable and can be shared seamlessly across professional and social platforms with a single click, ensuring lifelong access without the risks of loss or damage associated with physical certificates.
By eliminating paper certificates at scale, the initiative positions Saarang 2026 as a fully eco-friendly certification ecosystem while modernising how student participation and achievement are formally recognised.
The partnership underscores a shared commitment to adopting digital-first, sustainable practices for large-scale student events and reflects a common vision to integrate technology, accessibility, and environmental responsibility within higher education ecosystems.
“Saarang represents the scale, diversity, and energy of student engagement in India today. Through our partnership with IIT Saarang, we are ensuring that every participant’s effort and achievement is formally recognised through secure, verifiable digital credentials. This collaboration enables us to eliminate paper certificates at scale while giving students permanent access to credentials they can leverage well beyond the festival,” said Pramod Damodaran, Managing Director, Headstream Technologies.
“Saarang has always sought to combine scale with innovation. Transitioning to a fully digital credentialing system for Saarang 2026 allows us to recognise every participant efficiently while staying aligned with our sustainability objectives,” said a member of the IIT Saarang Organising Committee.
