JSA announces expansion of Partnership

Equity Partnership expanded to 66, with elevation of seven Retained Partners

India, 24 March 2026: JSA announced a significant expansion of its equity partnership by elevating seven Retained Partners from across offices and practice areas to Equity Partners, effective 1 April 2026. With these elevations, JSA’s equity partnership strength now stands at 66 equity partners. The seven new equity partners include two women partners enhancing the Firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity and ensuring women partners in leadership roles at the Firm.

Announcing the 2026 elevations, Vivek Chandy and Amar Gupta, Joint Managing Partners, JSA Advocates & Solicitors, said “We are delighted to welcome seven exceptionally talented homegrown partners into the equity partnership. Ajay G Prasad, Corporate Practice, Bengaluru

Ajay is a corporate-commercial lawyer specialising in mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures, transaction structuring, and corporate advisory. He advises foreign and domestic clients on navigating India’s legal and regulatory framework, with a focus on execution certainty, regulatory compliance, and commercially efficient structuring.

Akshat Jain, Disputes Practice, New Delhi

Akshat specializes in handling sector specific commercial litigation and his primary focus area is regulatory proceedings before statutory authorities, tribunals and courts, commercial litigation, and Constitutional & Administrative law litigation with focus on energy sector.

Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Corporate Practice, Gurugram

Bharat specializes in Real Estate and Corporate Advisory related matters. He has extensive experience in Real Estate related transactions including conducting of legal due diligence, drafting of lease deeds, leave and license agreements, joint development agreements and sale deeds. He has also been engaged in reviewing of various agreements and contracts for various real estate/construction based projects. His sector focus includes real estate and township infrastructure development.

Brijita Prakash, Corporate Practice, Bengaluru

Brijita’s primary practice area is property laws. She has extensive experience in title diligence and transaction advisory in the real estate sector. Most of the prominent developers and builders in the State of Karnataka are represented by Brijita. She is valued for her in-depth understanding of the issues relating to title, urban development, litigation concerns and issues arising out of customary practices in the real estate sector. Brijita handles the entire transaction from the stage of preliminary review of title to documentation preparation, finalization and closing of the transaction.

Pratik Pawar, Disputes Practice, Mumbai

Pratik’s core area of practice is litigation and alternative dispute resolution in a diverse range of corporate & commercial disputes, matters pertaining to public trusts, and matters arising out of engineering and construction contracts, and matters pertaining to media & entertainment law. He has advised and represented clients before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts in India, the erstwhile Company Law Board, NCLT and numerous Arbitral Tribunals, both ad-hoc and institutional, in Indian as well as international arbitrations.

Ronak Ajmera, Corporate Practice, Gurugram

Ronak specializes in the areas of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate and business restructuring, carve-out transactions, private equity, strategic investments, fund-raises, joint ventures, technical collaborations and India entry advice. In addition, he regularly handles assignments relating to contracting (commercial and corporate contracts) and general corporate and regulatory advice.

Shareen Gupta, Indirect Tax, Mumbai

Shareen specializes in indirect tax laws including Goods and Services Tax, Customs Law and Foreign Trade Policy and erstwhile indirect tax laws such as Value Added Tax Laws, Service Tax, Excise duty. Shareen has 19 years of experience in providing advisory and litigation support services to large corporates as well as start-ups.
