K-FOOD UNIVERSE to be Held in New Delhi: Experience the Flavors of Korean Food and Culture

From October 25 to November 17, 2024, the outdoor square of DLF Avenue Saket in New Delhi will host a special pop-up store, K-FOOD UNIVERSE, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience authentic Korean food and culture.

K-Food refers to agricultural and food products from Korea that are gaining global popularity. This event, organized by the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, aims to showcase a variety of Korean food products to the local Indian audience while promoting Korean culture.

K-FOOD UNIVERSE will welcome visitors with diverse programs and experiences. The venue will be divided into five themed zones, each inspired by a famous Korean landmark and designed to reflect the unique characteristics of each location.

In the Play Hongdae zone, visitors can immerse themselves in the popular Hongdae culture, beloved by Korean youth. They can enjoy exciting games like the Chopstick Challenge and the Dalgona Mission, and take special photos at the photo booth, which is a key aspect of MZ generation culture.

The Picnic Hangang zone recreates the atmosphere of a picnic along Seoul’s iconic Hangang River. Visitors can enjoy casual Korean dishes such as Bibimbap and Kimchi fried rice, along with popular street snacks like Tteokbokki. A DIY Ramyun-making experience will also be available, providing visitors with a memorable culinary experience.

In the Seongsu Street zone, inspired by the trendsetting street of Seongsu-dong, visitors can purchase fashionable K-POP goods and merchandise featuring famous Korean characters.

In the Namdaemoon Market zone, which brings to life Korea’s famous local market, visitors can shop for popular Korean foods, including beverages, snacks, and instant noodles. The Kimchi Zone will host an exhibition where visitors can learn about the history of kimchi and its regional variations.

Throughout the event, there will be a variety of cultural quiz shows at the main stage. Notably, a quiz battle about Korean convenience store foods and an OX quiz on Korean food will take place on weekdays, along with weekend performances by K-POP dance cover teams. There will also be a cooking program where participants can follow the recipes of Korean artists, which will be available through pre-registration.

Additionally, the event will feature a Stamp Rally to encourage visitor participation. Attendees can complete missions, such as purchasing Korean food or posting with hashtags on social media, to collect stamps and receive special souvenirs.

K-FOOD UNIVERSE will provide both locals and international visitors with a unique opportunity to experience the tastes and charm of Korea. The event will run from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.

The event is expected to give visitors the opportunity to explore all aspects of K-Food, from traditional fermented foods like Jang (fermented sauces) and kimchi to trendy dishes such as Ramyun and Tteokbokki. For more information, visit the official Instagram account (@k.food_universe_india).
