16th March 2024: KIET Group of institutions, Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad organized the inaugural ceremony of “Centre of Supercomputing” that shall have world’s first 5 petaFLOPS AI Supercomputer: NVIDIA DGX A100. This cutting-edge technology behind the SUPERCOMPUTER, NVIDIA’s DGX A100 marks a milestone in the institute’s commitment to advancing research and innovation across a wide range of disciplines. This Centre of Supercomputing is supported by ‘Start In UP’ start-up policy, that is an initiative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Guest Sunil Kumar Sharmaji,- Cabinet Minister, Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh along with special guest – Sanjeev Sharma, Mahanagar Adhyaksh – BJP, and Keshav Tyagi did the inaugural. The occasion was graced with the august presence of Sarish Agarwal – Chairman- Krishna Charitable Society, Atul Garg – Chairman-Governing Board, Sunil P. Gupta – General Secretary, GD Jain, Adi Narayan Gupta, Neeraj Chaudhary and Rakesh Goel along with Director in-charge -Dr. Anil Ahlawat, Joint Director – Dr. Manoj Goel, and Additional Director – Dr. Shailesh Tiwari, from KIET.
Cabinet Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma said, “I congratulate the institute for introducing this centre of supercomputing as it will shape the future of our nation. I believe when the students will begin working on supercomputers, they will be able to create new products and ideas that can multiply economic growth and promote innovation and entrepreneurship.”
Atul Garg, Hon’ble MLA Ghaziabad, said, “Through NVIDIA DGX A100 supercomputer, we want to provide new opportunities to our children to progress in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I request all the faculty members to provide all the technical facilities to make our children strong and competent.”
While briefing about the newly launched Centre of Supercomputing at campus, Dr. Rekha Kashyap, HoD CSE AI & CSE AIML said, “The NVIDIA DGX A100 is the world’s first 5 petaFLOPS AI system, designed to unify training, inference, and analytics into a single, easy-to-deploy AI infrastructure. The addition of the DGX A100 systems to the Centre of Supercomputing represents a leap forward in our institute’s research capabilities. With unparalleled computational efficiency and versatility, the DGX A100 will accelerate research in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, climate science, genomics, and more.”
Dr. Manoj Goel, Joint Director congratulated Dr. Rekha Kashyap and Dr. Adesh Pandey, Dean ITS for successfully organizing the event, and said, “the DGX A100’s integration will significantly enhance educational programs, providing students with hands-on experience using state-of-the-art AI technology.”
The event closed with a vote of thanks and felicitating the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor with mementos from the institute. College students, deans, heads, functional heads, and faculty members were present to witness the grand inaugural ceremony of the Centre of Supercomputing.
