Korean Cultural Centre India to Host All-India  K-Pop Contest 2024 Semi-final

Korean Cultural Centre India,2024 in collaboration with LG Electronics India, will host the semi-final of the All-India K-Pop Contest 2024 on October 19th at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Auditorium in New Delhi, which has a seating capacity of 2,000.

Now in its 14th year, the All-India K-Pop Contest is a six-month-long project, which had 10,600 participants in the first round of the online auditions. After the second round of regional preliminaries held in 11 major Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai and Mumbai, 27 teams advanced to the semifinals.

The popular Korean idol group “NTX” will perform and serve as judges in the semifinals. NTX debuted in 2021 and has gained global popularity in countries such as South Korea, the U.S., and Japan. They made their presence known by appearing on MBC’s ‘Extreme Debut: Wild Idol’ and JTBC’s ‘Peak Time’.

Additionally, interactive side events like the K-Pop Open Academy and K-Pop Random Play Dance are planned to entertain Hallyu (Korean Wave) fans. Ha Minwoo, a member of “ZE:A” who debuted in 2010, will also be a special guest, adding extra excitement to the event. For the K-pop fans there is also a ‘Fan Meet and Greet’ event scheduled with NTX at 4:50 pm on October 18 and at 1 pm on October 19.

The judging criteria for the semifinals will include pitch, rhythm, expressiveness, pronunciation, and stage presence (for vocals), as well as accuracy, choreography, technique, and stage presence (for dance). The top 5 vocal and dance teams from the semi-final will advance to the finals, which will be held on Saturday, November 23rd, at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi.
