Launch of Historical Monthly DDR and Daily Spot Market Statistics on NSE Website for Monthly Electricity Futures

Chandigarh, August 04, 2025: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is pleased to announce two new enhancements live on our NSE Website for the participants in the Electricity Futures (ELECMBL) contracts under the Commodity Derivatives Segment. These enhancements will be accessible on the appended below coordinates:

  1. Historical Monthly DDR (Due Date Rate) for Electricity Futures

Market Participants may now view forecasted Monthly (DDR) of ELECMBL contracts for the same month across the previous three years. For example, for trading in the August 2025 contract, DDR values (if the product was live) of August 2022, 2023, and 2024 are displayed.

This feature provides:

  • A direct view into historical settlement trends
  • Support for better forward pricing expectations
  • A tool for hedgers to compare historical volatility against current market positioning

  1. Daily Spot Market Statistics under Contract Information Page

The Daily Spot Market Statistics under the Contract Information page of Electricity Futures. The section will now also include Daily Market Clearing Volume of all three segments of DAM (Green, Conventional, and High Price), Moving Average of Daily DDR (MAVG-DDR), and respective DDR of same months for Previous three years.

These rollouts further supplement NSE’s recently launched Spot Market Insights page, which provides critical system-level indicators including:

  • Grid demand forecasts (by Grid-India)
  • Source-wise generation mix
  • Real-time interregional transmission flows
  • TRAS (Tertiary Reserves) projections
  • Weather-driven demand-supply sensitivities
  • Short-term market transaction summaries
