Bengaluru, 14th April, 2025 – The Sankara Eye Hospital campus came alive with colour, music, and youthful energy as Sankara College of Optometry hosted Reflektionz 2025 — a vibrant two-day intercollegiate cultural festival that blended talent, learning, and community spirit. Designed not only to celebrate culture but also to spotlight optometry as a rewarding career and vital healthcare profession, the event brought together students from across institutions to engage, compete, and connect.
This year’s edition celebrated the theme ‘Retro’, drawing participation from optometry students across South India. From dazzling retro fashion shows and parody musicals to high-octane mime acts and quirky contests like “Beauty from Basket” and “Footloose,” the event showcased the creativity and drive of the next generation of eye care professionals.
Adding a touch of stardust to the festivities was acclaimed actress Manisha Yadav, of the Jodha Akbar series fame who graced the event as the chief guest, engaging warmly with students and encouraging their journey in both the arts and healthcare.
“Reflektionz 2025 is more than just a cultural celebration — it’s a powerful platform to showcase the field of optometry and its immense potential as a career,” said Professor Aditya Goyal, Principal, Sankara College of Optometry. “Through this festival, we aim to inspire young minds, build awareness about eye care, and foster a strong sense of community among future healthcare professionals. The energy and enthusiasm on campus reflect the growing passion for this field, and that’s incredibly heartening to see.”
The event featured an electric Gala DJ Night, high-energy gaming zones (including Free Fire), and interactive events like Dumb Charades, Shipwreck, Funk from Junk, and Brain Battle. Many students also took a meaningful step by pledging to donate their eyes.
Now in its 12th year, Reflektionz has grown into one of the most anticipated student-led events in the optometry college circuit — a testament to how academic institutions like Sankara are shaping well-rounded professionals by encouraging both skill and spirit.
