ManipalCigna Health Insurance Conducts CPR Workshop & Insurance Awareness Camp for BMTC Drivers

Bengaluru, March 24, 2025 – ManipalCigna Health Insurance, one of India’s leading health insurance companies in collaboration with Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation, conducted a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training session along with a health insurance awareness camp in Hennur, Bengaluru. This initiative is in line with ManipalCigna Health Insurance’s larger goal of creating health insurance awareness across the state of Karnataka, as the lead health insurer under the State Insurance Awareness Plan by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).

Recognizing the vital role of BMTC frontline staff, including drivers and conductors, in ensuring public safety and mobility, this special session was held to empower them with essential life-saving skills and promote preventive healthcare. The event featured expert-led CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) training, aimed at equipping BMTC staff with the skills needed to respond effectively in emergencies. Given their position as first responders in many situations, the ability to perform CPR during cardiac or respiratory arrest can significantly increase survival rates, reinforcing their crucial role in safeguarding public health and safety.
