Mumbai / Pune, India, March 5, 2025: Mechatronics specialist Marquardt is expanding its presence in India and today officially opened a new plant in Talegaon, near Pune. With this production facility, the family-owned company is replacing its previous production site in Mumbai, significantly expanding its capacities and strengthening its competitiveness in a dynamic market. The investment in the building, machinery and equipment amounts to more than 180 crore rupees. In future, Marquardt will primarily manufacture mechatronic system solutions for customers in the Indian automotive industry at the ultra-modern plant.

Contribution to the “Make in India” Initiative

Around 300 new jobs
With state-of-the-art assembly lines, in-house electronics production and logistics, Marquardt supplies its customers from Talegaon with complete mechatronic solutions, including drive authorization systems, gear selector switches and battery management systems for electric vehicles. At the same time, the investment enables shorter supply chains, faster response times and greater flexibility. Over the next five years, Marquardt will create around 300 additional jobs at the new site.
Long-term commitment in India
Marquardt has been active in India for decades and operates a development center in Pune with more than 450 employees. The experts work on both local and international projects and are part of the global Marquardt innovation network.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of leading car manufacturers, partner companies and high-ranking representatives from business and politics. Dr. Harald Marquardt paid tribute to the achievements of the team on site: “The fact that we are able to open this plant today is thanks to the commitment and perseverance of many dedicated people.
