Medanta announces the launch of monthly talk show around cardiac care – Heart 2 Heart – featuring leading cardiac experts across India

On 15th of every month, leading Medanta Cardiac Experts and community based Practitioners will join LIVE on Social Media Channels to discuss on advanced Cardiac health related topics and the state-of-the-art technology, which can be used for cardiac care

National, February 14, 2024: Committed to equipping consumers with Best in Class information related to Cardiac Care and to help them take well-informed decisions, Medanta has announced the launch of monthly talk show around cardiac care – ‘Heart 2 Heart’. Featuring doctors from tier 1, tier 2 and 3 cities – this talk show aims to create engagement with the public to strengthen conversation around cardiac care, tackle myths and misconceptions pertaining to the same and sensitize the public on the steps they can take to live a heart healthy long life.

Dr Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director, Medanta said, “In the todays day and age, where misinformation is rampant, having access to accurate, medically verified information is paramount. Moreover, engaging in real-time interactions with patients, delivering pertinent and critical information about cardiac health hold immense value. An exclusive Medanta property, the ‘Heart 2 Heart’ series will exemplify Medanta’s patient first approach, encouraging the public to get screened regularly so that early detection and timely treatment can be ensured.”

Developed by leading cardiologist and Padma Shri Awardee, Dr Praveen Chandra, Chairman, Interventional Cardiology, Medanta, the talk show will be held monthly via Medanta’s YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn channel. A live chat box will allow audience members to pose their questions, with doctor’s responding in real time. Hosted on the 15th of every month, from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, the inaugural session (on the 15th of February) will feature Dr. Naresh Trehan, Dr. Praveen Chandra, Dr. Nakul Sinha and Dr. Sanjay Mittal. They will cover “New Era in Cardiac Care”. This will be followed by future sessions involving Leading Cardiac Experts across Medanta Hospitals and Community based Practitioners as well.

Dr Praveen Chandra said, “Data states that at present, the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in India is 54.5 million . It is the leading cause of mortality in the country (25% of all lives lost). The CVD death rate in India is 272 per 1,00,000 compared to the global average of 235 . CVDs also strike Indians a decade earlier than the western population and causes of concern include progression, and high mortality rate.”

He adds, “Therefore, the talk show is an invaluable resource for individuals seeking trustworthy cardiac care information – because through presentations and structured Q & A sessions, complex cardiac conditions will be explained in an easy-to-understand manner. It will also help those who are hesitant to seek an opinion, gain some clarity – so that they can decide their next steps. Featuring fresh perspectives each month from diverse medical experts discussing various aspects of cardiac health and care, the talk show will delve into a wide array of topics. This approach will captivate a diverse audience across India, where there is a rising prevalence of cardiac ailments especially among the younger population.”
