felicitated the awardees for Outstanding Service to Humanity
Rs. 20 lakhs in total cash prizes awarded to 5 recipients in the ‘Individual’ and ‘Institutional’ categories
1,700+ scholarships worth Rs. 2+ crore granted to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds
Ludhiana, 12 November 2025: The Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, established in 1983 by Late Shri Sat Paul Mittal, presented the Sat Paul Mittal National Awards 2025 in Ludhiana. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of India, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest and felicitated the awardees and distributed the scholarships. Also, present was Mr. Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President, Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust.
The distinguished 5 exemplars of the Sat Paul Mittal National Awards 2025 were presented with a total cash prize of Rs. 20 lakhs along with citations under the categories – Platinum & Gold
Since 1991, the trust has awarded over 28,000 scholarships worth over Rs. 11 crore to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, with 76% of beneficiaries being girl students. In the current year, the Trust will disburse approx. Rs. 2 Crore in scholarships to over 1,700 students. Additionally, prizes were awarded to winners of the inter-college debate competition. This year, the Trust also launched the Satya Scholarship Program, a merit-cum-means initiative that covers 100% annual course fees to empower meritorious students, enabling them to pursue higher education and develop into future leaders.
Congratulating the awardees, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of India, said, “The Sat Paul Mittal National Awards 2025 are beyond a celebration of honour, they reflect the nation’s spirit, recognising the transformative contributions of education, selfless service, and a self-reliant mindset in shaping India’s progress.”

Awardees of the Sat Paul Mittal National Awards 2025
Sat Paul Mittal National Award 2025 – Platinum in the ‘Individual’ category was presented to Mrs. Muktaben Pankajkumar Dagli:
Mrs. Muktaben Pankajkumar Dagli, founder of Pragnachakshu Mahila Seva Kunj in Gujarat, transformed her personal journey of resilience into a mission to empower visually impaired women. Having lost her own vision at seven, she established an institution that provided free education, accommodation, food, healthcare and transportation to over 200 visually impaired girls. In Ahmedabad, 100+ visually impaired students receive accommodation and support. In Morbi and Umargam, 300+ individuals are employed with free housing facilities. Till now, 250 blind couples have become self-reliant through home science training offered by the institution. Mrs. Dagli’s work continues to support education, employment, and independent living for the visually impaired community across Gujarat.
Sat Paul Mittal National Award 2025 – Platinum in the ‘Institutional’ category was jointly conferred upon Humans for Humanity:
Humans for Humanity, based in Dehradun, empowers vulnerable communities through awareness and inclusion. The organization actively works to combat social stigmas surrounding menstruation through campaigns like Breaking the Bloody Taboo and the Red Cloth Campaign. Through the WASH project, they’ve reached over 4.5 million women across 7 states in India, educating them about menstrual hygiene and trained them to make bio-degradable sanitary napkin. With 1,500+ workshops, including sessions for transgender men and institutions like the Indian Military Academy, they’re driving change at scale.
Sat Paul Mittal National Award 2025 – Platinum in the ‘Institutional’ category was presented jointly to Parivaar Education Society:
The Parivaar Education Society, based in Kolkata, is a pioneer in transforming the lives of vulnerable children through holistic care, quality education, and empowerment programs. Extending its compassion beyond children, it supports the destitute, elderly, and homeless through humanitarian initiatives such as Mobile Clinics, 24×7 Ambulance Services, and a Vision Restoration Program for underprivileged seniors. To date, Parivaar has provided supplementary education and nutrition to over 80,000 children across 900 tribal villages, residential schooling to 4,000+ vulnerable children, and delivered 3.4 lakh ambulance services, 7 lakh eye check-ups, and 78,000+ surgeries, advancing education, healthcare, and dignity for marginalized communities across India.
Sat Paul Mittal National Award 2025 – Gold in the ‘Individual’ category was conferred upon Dr. Kiran Modi:
Dr. Kiran Modi, from New Delhi, was honoured for her outstanding contribution to child welfare and youth empowerment. As the Founder and Managing Trustee of Udayan Care, established in 1994, she has built a nationwide movement supporting children without parental care. What began as a single home in Delhi has grown into a network across 15 states. Dr. Modi pioneered the Udayan Ghar model, offering children a nurturing a family-like environment with mentoring, emotional support, and education. Through initiatives like the Udayan Shalini Fellowship, which has empowered over 18,000 girls, and Skill and Livelihood Centres that have trained 35,000+ youth, her vision continues to uplift marginalized communities. Supported by over 1,200 volunteers, Dr. Modi’s work has transformed 55,000+ lives, fostering lasting change in childcare, education, and youth empowerment across India.
Sat Paul Mittal National Award 2025 – Gold in the ‘Institutional’ category was presented to Smile Train India:
Smile Train India, based in New Delhi, has pioneered a community-driven model providing early intervention, rehabilitation, and holistic care for children born with cleft conditions. Over the past 25 years, it has facilitated 1.5 lakh+ cleft surgeries across India through a robust network of 150+ partner hospitals. Its comprehensive program, covering surgery, speech therapy, orthodontics, and nutritional support, benefited over 7.5 lakh individuals. Beyond surgeries, it has trained 1,000+ healthcare professionals and reached 50 million+ people through nationwide awareness initiatives. Through its inclusive and sustainable approach, the organization continues to restore smiles, dignity, and opportunities for children and families impacted by cleft conditions across the country.
The ‘Sat Paul Mittal National Awards – Platinum & Gold are given annually for outstanding service to humanity. Every year Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust invites nominations for honouring individuals and institutions working in areas including but not limited to health, education, environment, food, shelter, poverty alleviation, art, culture, child rights, welfare of the differently abled and women empowerment.
