Resonia Ltd. wins Ananthapur-II Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase-I” project to integrate 4.5 GW of Renewable Energy in Andhra Pradesh

Bengaluru, April 1, 2025 – Resonia Limited, a leading power transmission company,  earlier known as Sterlite Grid 32 Ltd. (SGL32) has successfully secured the bid for the “Transmission System for Integration of Ananthapur-II Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase-I” project.

The project was awarded to Resonia Ltd through the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process in 2025. Through the Special Purpose Vehicle, the company will build this Green Energy – project on a BOOT (build, own, operate, transfer) basis, for a period of 35 years.

This is Resonia’s 11 power transmission project in India under the TBCB process. With this project, the company now has approximately INR 32,527 Crores of projects under management.

Commenting on the development, Arun Sharma, CEO, Resonia Ltd., said, “The Ananthapur-II REZ Phase-I project will not only enhance the power transmission network in Andhra Pradesh but also serve as a critical link in the nationwide effort to integrate renewable energy into the grid. This project is significant as it marks Resonia’s entry into the Andhra Pradesh market, expanding our footprint in the southern states.”

The Ananthapur-II REZ Phase-I project, involves the establishment of critical transmission infrastructure to evacuate 4.5 GW of renewable energy from the Ananthapur region in Andhra Pradesh. The project includes the construction of a large size Greenfield Pooling Station at Ananthapuram-II (765/400kV and 400/220kV), along with the development of 765 kV D/C transmission lines connecting Ananthapuram-II to Davangere (approximately 150 km) and Ananthapuram-II to Cuddapah (approximately 200 km). The scope also includes a ±300 MVAR STATCOM at Ananthapuram-II Pooling Station to enhance grid stability and reliability.

This project will contribute to the ongoing efforts to increase India’s non-fossil fuel-based installed electricity generation capacity, paving the way for a sustainable and greener energy future for the country. This landmark project will play a crucial role in strengthening India’s renewable energy infrastructure and contribute to the country’s ambitious goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
