Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan struck a chord with Jharkhand’s voters today by emphasizing the importance of “Roti, Beti, and Maati.” Chouhan is actively campaigning in the state as the BJP prepares for an intense electoral showdown.
“On behalf of PM Modi and JP Nadda, I assure you that if the BJP comes to power in Jharkhand, we will protect your ‘roti’, ‘beti’, and ‘maati’,” he declared.
In this context, ‘roti’ reflects the issue of unemployment in the state, while ‘beti’ addresses concerns over ‘love jihad’ and violence against women. ‘Maati’ refers to the threat of ‘land jihad’ due to the presence of illegal infiltrators in Jharkhand.
Notably, the BJP’s message appears to resonate with women voters, who seem to be forming a strong emotional connection with the party’s campaign.
The BJP is witnessing an organic shift in voter support across Jharkhand, suggesting potential cracks in the traditional voter base of the JMM and Congress.
Jharkhand’s 81-member Legislative Assembly will head to the polls between November and December.
With the JMM, Congress, and BJP competing fiercely for control in Ranchi, early trends show the BJP holding a significant advantage over its rivals.
