SHEENA CHOHAN BAGS A POWERFUL FILM ON GIRL CHILD RIGHTS, STARTING 2025 WITH A BANG!

Mumbai, India – December 31, 2024 – Internationally acclaimed actress and human rights ambassador Sheena Chohan is ringing in the New Year with purpose and passion. As the world celebrates the arrival of 2025, Sheena celebrates her commitment to meaningful storytelling by starring in a Hindi film tackling critical issues of girl child rights, women’s safety, and foeticide causes that resonate deeply with her.

Jannat Movies and Great India Film Television Present this powerful film, called “One More” – produced by Sonu Bansal and Manoj Pandya and directed by Manoj Pandya.

In the film, Sheena portrays a painter whose art becomes a medium for voicing the unspoken struggles of women and girls in society, which is reflected by a midset shift and realisation that’s changes her entire life.

The narrative not only sheds light on these pressing social issues but also highlights solutions rooted in empowerment, education, and awareness. “When this film came to me I was excited because I knew exactly where to get all of my character research – because this is an area I’ve worked in for so long – women’s rights. So to understand and develop this character was stepping into a world I was already familiar with. This film is close to my heart because it amplifies the voices of millions of girls and women who deserve a safer, brighter future. As an artist, I believe storytelling has the power to ignite change, and I’m honored to contribute to that. ” Sheena said.

The short film, already creating buzz for its poignant subject matter, will debut at the Berlin Film Festival in early 2025. The team plans an extensive global festival circuit, bringing the film’s crucial message to audiences worldwide.

As a long-standing advocate for human rights, Sheena’s dedication to the cause extends beyond the screen. She has been honored with the Human Rights Hero Award at the UN and the Presidential Award from President Biden, reaching millions with her message of equality, safety, and empowerment.

Reflecting on her decision to spend New Year’s Eve working on this project, Sheena said, “2025 is a year for action. It’s a time to turn aspirations into reality, and I can’t think of a better way to start than by amplifying a story that can spark real social change.”

Sheena Chohan begins 2025 with this meaningful cinematic project, while also preparing for four major releases this year, including her highly anticipated Hindi debut, Sant Tukaram opposite Subodh Bhave, directed by Aditya Om.
