· The engine technology is the world’s first-of-its-kind for Genset application
Bengaluru, 14 August 2025 –Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL) unveiled its pioneering Ethanol and Isobutanol engine technology, the world’s first for Genset applications evaluated by ARAI. The launch, officiated by Honourable Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, underscored the government’s push for alternative fuel solutions as a cornerstone of India’s journey towards energy independence and environmental stewardship.
KOEL reaffirmed its leadership in advancing clean power solutions, with the new engines launched around World Biofuel Day, highlighting the company’s focus on alternative fuels, supporting national energy diversification goals and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future.

The new engines feature advanced combustion technology that significantly reduces greenhouse gas output, compatibility with renewable biofuels such as Ethanol and Isobutanol to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, robust performance engineered for diverse industrial and commercial applications, and sustainable manufacturing achieved through eco-friendly production practices and optimized resource usage
