New Delhi, 21st August, 2025: FORE Centre for Political Leadership and Governance (FCPLG) hosted a felicitation ceremony for Shri Anurag Singh Thakur and awarded winners of its inter-college debate competition, FCPLG–Tark Manch, at the Prime Minister’s Museum & Library Auditorium, Teen Murti Bhavan, New Delhi.
The chief guest was former Union Minister Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, who is the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Coal, Mines & Steel and an honourable member of the Lok Sabha. The event saw participation from policy experts, academicians, and students aspiring to contribute to governance and public leadership. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by esteemed dignitaries, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and the pursuit of enlightenment.
Delivering the keynote address, former Union Minister Shri Anurag Singh Thakur highlighted that India today needs skilled, ethical, and visionary leadership. True leadership is not about high offices or grand platforms, but about everyday actions that bring real change.
India’s greatest strength lies in its 40 crore young citizens who will play a decisive role in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. The youth must actively engage in governance and policy-making while remaining vigilant against the challenges of dynastic politics. In a democracy, leaders are expected to walk alongside the people as companions, not demand blind loyalty,” stated Shri Thakur.
Welcoming the gathering, Dr. Abhay Anand Tiwari, CEO, FORE Centre for Political Leadership & Governance (FCPLG), said, At FCPLG, we are committed to nurturing future-ready leaders who are grounded in values and equipped to address the challenges of tomorrow. This felicitation and debate competition reflect our mission to create platforms where young minds can engage with ideas, sharpen their perspectives, and contribute meaningfully to the democratic process”.
In his special address, Dr. B.B.L. Madhukar, Chairman of FORE, explained that India’s demographic dividend is one of our greatest assets. By fostering dialogue, debate, and mentorship, FCPLG aims to empower youth to embrace responsibility, think critically, and step into leadership roles that will define the nation’s future.”
Dr. Vinayshil Gautam, Vice Chairman of FORE, also addressed the audience, sharing insights on leadership challenges and responsibilities.
The award distribution ceremony recognised winners of the FCPLG–Tark Manch Debate Competition, where students from Delhi University colleges and the FORE School of Management showcased their debating skills. An interactive session with Shri Thakur gave students valuable insights into governance and political processes.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Abhay Anand Tiwari, who acknowledged the presence of dignitaries, students, and participants for their active involvement and contribution to the success of the ceremony. The proceedings were followed by a networking lunch, providing a platform for engaging discussions and meaningful exchange of ideas among attendees.
