Sterling Champions Lifesaving Dialysis Access through CSR Initiative

June 9, 2025 | Chennai, India – Sterling Holiday Resorts, one of India’s leading hospitality brands, has deepened its commitment to community health by supporting a transformative dialysis care initiative for underserved regions. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Sterling has partnered with the Fairfax India Charitable Foundation (FICF) on The FICF Dialysis Mission: a scalable healthcare model to fund the installation of dialysis machines in rural and semi-urban districts with limited access to life-saving treatment.

In FY 2024–25, Sterling contributed ₹7.5 million to deploy 16 dialysis machines across seven healthcare centres in Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Assam. Building on this impact, the company has committed an additional ₹15 million in FY 2025–26 to install 22 more machines strategically located to serve the micro-communities in the vicinity of Sterling resorts. Combined, these 38 machines are projected to deliver over 18,000 free or subsidized dialysis sessions, resulting in estimated savings of ₹36.4 million for patients—many of whom face prohibitive healthcare costs.

The FICF Dialysis mission is an effort to take dialysis machines beyond the urban areas into underserved regions to bring down the barriers in access, affordability and continuity of care. This is being done through a PPP (Public-Private-Partnership) model, combining government infrastructure, private healthcare operators and CSR funding from corporate donors like Sterling. The initiative aims to install 2,000 machines across 450 centers in 350 districts to deliver 4.5 million free/subsidized sessions and generate ₹920 crore in patient savings while creating over 4,500 rural jobs.
