Studies indicate homeopathic treatment may benefit patients of chronic kidney disease

  • The retrospective observational study was conducted by Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic by analysing patient records
  • Chronic kidney disease / kidney failure is a common condition with limited resolution in conventional medicine

BENGALURU | March 11, 2026: Findings from a retrospective observational study conducted at Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic have shown a positive impact of homeopathic treatment on a significant percentage of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

The chronic kidney disease study analysed patient records as part of the clinic’s continuous research initiatives into condition-specific homeopathic treatment protocols. For the purpose of the study, a defined catchment period was established and patient data from that duration was extracted and analysed.

The study focused on two clinically important laboratory parameters serum urea and serum creatinine which play a key role in assessing kidney function and guiding clinical decisions, including dialysis. By the third visit, 50–58.3% of patients showed improvement in their serum urea levels. Improvement in serum creatinine levels ranged between 50% and 74.2% across observed patient groups.

Dr. Kalyan Banerjee, Founder, Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic, said, “These results are encouraging. In the chronic kidney disease study, two clinically important parameters serum urea and creatinine showed improvement in a significant proportion of patients. These readings play an important role in clinical decision-making regarding dialysis.”

Dr. Kushal Banerjee, Senior Consultant from the clinic said, “Our clinic treats a large number of patients with chronic kidney disease who have reported improvements in their lab parameters following treatment. This retrospective evaluation was undertaken to assess whether clinical records supported those observations. We hope these findings stimulate interest in conducting larger, randomised controlled trials. These are early findings and should be interpreted with caution, and we welcome collaboration with specialists and research bodies to conduct more robust trials and further examine the role of homeopathic medicines in chronic kidney disease.”

Doctors at Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic follow structured treatment protocols developed over decades of clinical practice, using defined medicine and potency combinations for specific conditions. If patients do not respond to initial prescriptions, second-line treatment protocols are initiated. The clinic emphasises that continuous high-quality research will be important to strengthen the evidence base and encourage balanced scientific evaluation.
