Hyderabad, June 30th, 2024: The thrilling BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES 2024 (BGIS) finale, held at the iconic HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, concluded on a high note withTEAM XSPARK emerging as the champions. This event marked as the first ever LAN finale of BGIS held in Hyderabad, the winners took home a grand prize of INR 60 lakhs from a total prize pool of INR 2 crores.
The three-day Esports extravaganza featured intense matches and passionate fans, highlighting the growing prominence of Esports in India. With over 5000 spectators in attendance, the biggest battle royale Esports tournament in India elevated the Esports experience for fans in an unprecedented manner. The much-anticipated BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA PRO SERIES (BMPS) 2024 was also announced, unveiling the 2024 roadmap for KRAFTON India’s Esports initiatives.
Abhinav Bindra, India’s ace shooter and first individual Olympic gold medalist, graced the final day of BGIS 2024. KRAFTON India’s steadfast commitment to fostering Esports talent and growing the collective sporting community in India took centre stage as the proceeds from the Elite pass sale, INR 25 lakhs was donated to the Abhinav Bindra Foundation, ensuring access to sporting best practices to athletes.
Accepting the contribution, Bindra expressed his enthusiasm “I’m thrilled to be here witnessing the rise of Esports in India and Indian teams becoming part of global tournaments like Asian Games. I have immense respect for gamers. The physical training, nutrition, mental prowess, and recovery time required are some of the commonalities between conventional sports and Esports. Both can learn a great deal from each other. I’m also grateful for KRAFTON and the Esports community’s support towards the Abhinav Bindra Foundation.Our foundation aims to foster sporting excellence and inclusivity. We run programs such as scholarship initiatives, surgeries for athletes, mental health support for athletes, and more.”

Teams securing fourth to sixteenth positions also received prizes amounting from INR 15,00,000 to INR 2,50,000.
BGIS kicked off in April 2024, where with over 5 lakh registrations and selected teams participated in several rounds to secure their spot in the finals. On 28th, 29th and 30th June, the 16 final teams went head-to-head for the ultimate chicken dinner over the course of 18 matches. While team TEAM XSPARK etched their names in Esports history with their triumphant journey, the tournament also saw top performances from all participating teams.
The thrilling finale was also live-broadcasted on KRAFTON INDIA ESPORTS YouTube Channel, drawing exceptional response from both BGMI fans and Esports enthusiasts. The event was broadcast in 10 languages, including English, Hindi, and other regional languages, enabling audiences from across the country to enjoy the matches to the fullest.
