Hyderabad, October 09, 2025: Xpheno, a leading specialist staffing firm, today unveiled its latest workforce research report titled “Telangana: The Next-Gen GCC Powerhouse”. The report spotlights the state’s remarkable evolution into a global business magnet — driven by a high-quality talent base, robust migration trends, and an increasingly diversified GCC landscape.
According to the report, Hyderabad has emerged as the most sought-after destination for new Greenfield GCCs, attracting 40% of all such centers set up in India over the last three years — surpassing Bengaluru’s 33% share during the same period. This highlights Telangana’s growing strategic importance on the national and global map of capability centers.
Telangana currently hosts over 360 GCCs employing more than 3.1 lakh professionals, accounting for 14% of the state’s total white-collar workforce.
Kamal Karanth, Co-founder, Xpheno, said:
“Telangana is fast emerging as India’s next-generation GCC powerhouse. With a vibrant, skilled workforce and progressive infrastructure, the state has become a magnet for global enterprises seeking sustainable talent ecosystems. Our latest research highlights how Hyderabad’s foresight-driven growth, policy support, and access to 47 lakh-plus white-collar professionals make it a preferred hub for high-value capability centers. Telangana’s strong talent inflows, leadership depth, and rapid Greenfield GCC expansion underscore its readiness to anchor the next wave of innovation-led global operations from India.”
Francis Padamadan, Chief Executive Officer (Designate) at Xpheno, said:
“Telangana’s GCC growth story reflects a confluence of factors — a high-quality talent pool, competitive cost advantage, and its growing reputation as a hub for both tech and non-tech functions. The state’s ability to attract and retain mid- and senior-level talent makes it a long-term strategic choice for global enterprises. As new-age GCCs look for scale and leadership depth, Telangana stands out as their preferred destination.”
The report highlights that Telangana’s GCC ecosystem boasts a Positive Talent Balance (PTB) of 6,400 professionals, ranking second in India after Karnataka. Currently, 59% (1.82 Lakh) of
the total GCC talent pool of Telangana is engaged by the IT/ITeS Cohort, with BFSI, healthcare, and manufacturing emerging as fast-growing domains.
The Xpheno report outlines several standout workforce indicators that reinforce Telangana’s GCC appeal:
- 47.8 lakh accessible white-collar professionals, including 23.3 lakh with over a year of experience.
- Women form 33% of the GCC workforce, with leadership representation at 19%.
- A 4:1 inbound-to-outbound jobseeker ratio, signaling the state’s strong talent attraction and retention capacity.
- Engineering and IT roles dominate 57% of total GCC employment in the state.
“Telangana’s GCC ecosystem has moved beyond its IT roots to become a multi-functional, sector-agnostic powerhouse. The inclusion of global R&D, finance, supply chain, and advanced engineering functions reflects the maturity and depth of the state’s talent pool,” added Padamadan.
