With the capacity to train over 100+ students annually across multiple batches, the centre has already seen high levels of interest from Guwahati, Shillong, and neighbouring states.
July 16, 2025: In a move that underscores both regional development and national skilling ambitions, TERN Group, an AI-powered global talent mobility platform, has launched its 7th training centre in India – and its first exclusively focused on Japanese language and career readiness – in Guwahati, Assam. This expansion marks a significant milestone in TERN’s mission to break borders for global talent and to build structured, ethical migration pathways for India’s young workforce.
Strategically located in one of the most vibrant cities of the Northeast, the new centre marks a significant milestone in TERN’s vision of making global mobility accessible and ethical. Guwahati was chosen for its young, educated, and ambitious talent pool. The facility will also cater to aspirants from nearby regions such as Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh, positioning Guwahati as a Northeast hub for overseas skilling and placement.
The training centre caters to youth looking for careers in Japan, where an aging population has created strong demand for international talent in sectors like healthcare, elderly care, hospitality, and engineering. Students will undergo intensive Japanese language training, cultural orientation, and work-simulation modules, with direct access to opportunities from overseas partners and Japanese employers. With a capacity to train 100+ students annually across 5 batches, the centre aims to create a consistent pipeline of globally certified, job-ready professionals from the Northeast.
Importantly, this is TERN’s first dedicated effort in the Japan migration corridor, aligning with Japan’s growing demand for skilled foreign professionals as it faces an aging population and acute labor shortages.
Avinav Nigam, Founder & CEO, TERN Group, said, “For far too long, Northeast India has remained on the margins of international workforce development. By establishing our centre in Guwahati, we are unlocking the region’s potential and creating a launchpad for global careers. This is more than just training; it’s about building a pathway that is affordable, transparent, and aligned with India’s vision for skilled migration. As we look ahead to a world where 85 million jobs may go unfilled by 2030, TERN is creating a new model of ethical, tech-enabled migration to ensure that geography never limits talent, and opportunity becomes truly global.”
TERN’s integrated AI platform supports candidates across the entire migration journey – from AI-powered document verification to language & interview preparation, and post-departure support. TERN offers recruitment at zero cost, and our training is heavily subsidised – with the majority of fees payable only after successful completion. In addition to classroom training, students receive free demo classes, career counselling, and placement guidance. Our expert Japanese trainers ensure learners are well-prepared before they leave Indian soil.
This centre represents TERN’s rapid national expansion – building on successful operations in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, and beyond – and is a direct step toward formalising India’s migration ecosystem. As the 7th training centre in TERN’s growing network which directly supports the Government of India’s Skill India Mission, it reinforces the company’s commitment to scalable, ethical, and tech-enabled global mobility.
